We're Looking for a Volunteer Coordinator!

ABOUT CALMER CHOICE

Calmer Choice serves children and those who support them on Cape Cod and surrounding regions by providing evidence-based mindfulness education, training and mentorship to build resilience, foster compassion and nurture the wellbeing of all people and communities.  Utilizing our evidence-based curriculum and a trauma-informed delivery approach, we work in classrooms and community spaces to support individuals in reconnecting with the inner capacities they need to feel grounded, resourced, and capable of leading lives of kindness and compassion towards themselves and others.

JOB SUMMARY

The Volunteer Coordinator (VC) plays a key role in allowing the organization to grow and expand its impact in the community. The VC leads the coordination of volunteer recruitment, screening, training, and assignments for all Calmer Choice (CC) volunteers. This role involves monitoring volunteer programs and coordinating volunteer activities across all programs where volunteers are assigned. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for supporting volunteer engagement within the organization while also supporting the organization at large to design and deliver a shared vision of clear and impactful programming services to achieve our mission.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Development Committee Chair (DCC), responsibilities include the following:

PROFESSIONAL SKILLSET
  • Demonstrated team and project management skills
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills (English required, additional languages desirable)
  • Reliable and punctual, well-organized with time and record-keeping
  • Able to manage a variety of tasks that require proficiency with technology, including maintaining a volunteer database, scheduling and coordinating activities, and creating reports.
  • Comfort using technology and a range of platforms including email, spreadsheets, social media, etc.
