This is a review of 40 articles to intended to learn more about the extent to which the five CASEL Social-and-Emotional Learning competency areas are measured in studies of mindfulness-based practice in schools. This review found that he goals of mindfulness-based practice and the Social-and-emotional Learning frameworks closely align. Each study reviewed included at least one measure of self-management. Over half of the studies that measured self-management and responsible decision-making detected significant improvement.
