Sarah Manion and John Fulone join Calmer Choice

Sarah Manion named Chief Program Officer

Calmer Choice is pleased to announce it has hired Sarah Manion as the organization’s first Chief Program Officer. Manion, a Cape native, has over a decade in project management and strategic operations expertise. Before returning to the Cape, she worked abroad in Africa building multi-sector leadership experience in the nonprofit, for-profit and public space. She has worked extensively to support diverse teams work more effectively towards their shared goals.

“We are so fortunate to have Sarah join our Leadership Team. Our programming has expanded significantly through the pandemic, and our delivery has adapted as well. Sarah’s years of experience and deep mindfulness practice will help shape not only the content of our programs but also how Calmer Choice delivers these programs to individuals, schools, and community organizations going forward”, said Emily Smalley, Chief Executive Officer at Calmer Choice.

John Fulone Appointed as Chief Operating Officer

Also joining the Calmer Choice Leadership Team is John Fulone, the organization’s new Chief Operating Officer. Smalley, who was named Chief Executive Officer in August 2021, previously served as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer.

Fulone joins Calmer Choice after 30+ years as an executive in the banking industry. He is well-known among the Cape’s non-profit community through his work serving on a variety of boards over his professional career. In fact, Fulone had been a member of the board of Calmer Choice since 2012 and served as the board’s Chair for the last 2 years before resigning to become the Chief Operating Officer.

“As a member of our board, John’s background in finance and planning helped lead Calmer Choice through its Strategic Planning process. As Chief Operating Officer, his skills and experience will help formalize our operations as we continue to grow”, stated Smalley.
