Run the 2021 Falmouth Road Race with team Calmer Choice
Have you always wanted to run the historic Falmouth Road Race?
Join the Calmer Choice Team for the 49th annual running tentatively scheduled for Sunday, August 15, 2021.
We have 10 charity team bib numbers – first come first serve! This year the race will be a combination of in-person and virtual and our top 3 fundraisers will have the option to run the race course in-person on race day. The fundraising minimums have been lowered this year as a reflection of this new format.
The funds raised by our charity team support vital Calmer Choice programming in schools and in our community. This includes our new initiative to provide pre-recorded lessons that teachers can utilize in their virtual and hybrid pandemic teaching as well as support our scholarship fund for adults to participate in our 8-week virtual mindfulness courses.
Our team captains will organize team training runs and help facilitate the setup and promotion of runner online fundraising. Each participant is expected to raise a minimum of $750.00 required by race organizers and beyond to help support Calmer Choice!
Given the unprecedented time, race organizers have instituted protocols to ensure all runners are safe including:
- Significantly reduced number of in-person runners on race day - 30% of usual field size
- Possible postponement date of Sunday, November 14, 2021
- At Home Virtual Edition option
- Given this reduction in field size, charity teams are allowed to have 30% of their runners allowed to run the in-person race. Calmer Choice will allow the 3 TOP fundraisers the option to run in-person if they feel safe to do so. If not, the next top fundraiser will be selected, and so forth.
Calmer Choice is organizing a safe and socially distant “ At Home Edition” mini-race on Cape Cod for those who do not wish to run the in-person race in Falmouth!
