August 16, 2018 marked the date for the inaugural “Eight Dinner Parties, One Cause” event benefiting Calmer Choice. All across Cape Cod, guests joined one of eight hosts at an intimate dinner in their home featuring a local luminary and thought-leader as a special guest speaker.
The event was an opportunity to take a breather from the busy summer and engage in wonderful conversation around an informative topic, have a delicious dinner, meet new friends, and support Calmer Choice. In total, the event raised more than $9,000 for Calmer Choice’s programming across Cape Cod.
We are incredibly grateful to our hosts and our luminaries, and for the laughter and new friends made that evening, all in support of the thousands of young people we serve each year. This year’s luminaries were: Pat Bradley, world-famous LPGA Hall of Famer; Mick Carlon, award-winning jazz aficionado and author; Lisa Genova, neuroscientist, speaker, yogi and empathy warrior; Megan Murphy, founder of The Kindness Rocks Project; Robert Smith, word-renowned chef for the New England Patriots; Sarah Swain, lead singer of the Oh Boys band and founder and CEO of Cape Wellness Collaborative; Mindy Todd, the voice of NPR on Cape Cod; and David Willard, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Legend.
