Calmer Choice Welcomes New Board Members

Calmer Choice is pleased to announce new and returning board members for 2021.

C. Patty Fater, MD
Harbor Community Health Center

Dr. Fater is a Family Practice Physician practicing at Harbor Community Health Center. Patty’s three sons attended the Barnstable Public School system, having endured the stressors that were responsible for the creation of Calmer Choice and her role as a founding board member for the organization.

Anne D. LeClaire

Author and Lecturer

Anne is a memoirist and the critically acclaimed, best-selling author of nine novels published in twenty-four countries. She is a popular lecturer and has taught creative writing workshops in the U.S. and internationally. Anne started her mindfulness practice twenty-eight years ago which led to the writing of her memoir, “Listening Below the Noise, the Transformative Power of Silence”, named one of the 50 best spiritual books of 2009.

Dan Richards
Software Technology Consultant and Yoga Instructor

Dan has been building and developing software for 30+ years working for Raytheon, Apollo Computer, Hewlett Packard, Mercury Systems, Segue Software. Dan also served as the VP of Engineering and Operations at ConstantContact.com for 10 years leading the development of the company’s signature Email Marketing service. Currently, Dan is the principal at STRADS Consulting, LLC. where works with small companies, startups and entrepreneurs to help develop and build the software solutions they need. Dan is also an RYT-500 yoga teacher.

Nancy Ashworth
Administrator - Elementary Education, Retired

Nancy began partnering with Calmer Choice in her role as an elementary principal in Falmouth Public Schools and has worked with children and families for 38 years in varying roles. Nancy has attained her Master’s in Education and CAGS/Elementary Administration degrees. Her work with children began as a volunteer with Big Brother/Big Sister, she worked as a residential/educational child worker for New England Home for Little Wanderers; served as a children's caseworker and program director for the Department of Mental Health, and began her career in elementary education as a School Adjustment Counselor. Nancy worked as an elementary school administrator for 19 years before retiring in June 2020. Nancy now serves as a consultant mentoring new school administrators and supporting educators’ focus on their professional and student learning goals.
