Sharing Mindfulness with our Community
Offerings from our 2022 Trainees
“I loved this training. I feel like everyone is present and is coming at this process from a place of love. It’s very nourishing.” 2022 Foundations of Teaching Mindfulness graduate
This year, we launched our first-ever training to support individuals in teaching and sharing mindfulness education outside of Calmer Choice. “Foundations of Teaching Mindfulness” was a 6-month intensive that brought 10 committed trainees into a shared learning space to cultivate the skills and capacities needed to offer mindfulness guidance to others. Trainees gained an understanding of the concrete scientific workings of mindfulness while practicing how to facilitate groups and hold shared space.
The capstone of this training invites each trainee to provide a free public offering in the form of a mindfulness course. Below you will find the details of the mindfulness offerings of our current cohort. We warmly encourage you to participate in their creative programming – we’re sure you, like us, will learn so much from them. Everyone is welcome and all programs are offered free of charge.
Please note: The content of each of these courses is delivered at the discretion of the trainees and may or may not reflect the evidence-based approach of Calmer Choice’s mindful awareness curriculum. That said, we acknowledge the richness that a diversity of thought and experience brings and hope you will enjoy each program.

Mindfulness and the Actor
Offering from Tammy Harper
Grades 9-12
Saturdays, 9/24/22 – 10/22/22, 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm
There is a natural overlay between theatre and mindfulness. In order to be believable on the stage we must be present. For the moment of performance, mindfulness may be the key to what actors are “doing” because what they are “doing” is “being”. This 5-session, free workshop through the Cape Cod Theatre Company, is an introduction to mindfulness skills that will enhance your life on and off the stage.
Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre, Inc. is Cape Cod’s premier multi-generational theater. Our commitment is to educate, empower and inspire students of all ages from all backgrounds to explore and expand their creative talents and aspirations, to experience and appreciate live theatre and to develop and nurture a life-long appreciation of the performing arts.
