Yarmouth Senior Services invites you to our first “Calmer Choice For Adults Of All Ages” series, a collaboration between Calmer Choice and Yarmouth Senior Center.
WHEN: Thursdays 1:30-3:30 p.m. July 12-August 23 (No Class August 2)
WHERE: Yarmouth Senior Center 528 Forest Rd., West Yarmouth
WHO: Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome - no need to be a Yarmouth resident. Class will be led by two skillful Calmer Choice instructors.
WHAT: Great opportunity for adults of all ages to learn skills of Mindful Awareness. The Calmer Choice program was taught in 92 schools this past school year, and is also offered to adults.
WHY: Current research studies show the benefits of using mindfulness practices to settle the mind, create clarity, attention, and focus, and widen perspective, all leading to a greater sense of well-being.

MINDFULNESS DEFINED: the basics, and the neuroscience behind it.
MINDFULNESS OF BODY: practices to access calm, balance, and stability.
MINDFULNESS OF EMOTIONS: practice to “step-back” from the narrative to see more clearly what is really here.
CULTIVATING OPTIMISM: and perspective taking exercises to create resilience and well-being.
RELATING TO STRESS: create a new relationship with stress; building tools of resilience, well-being, and self- compassion.
